We are pleased to share that our Rent Manager Product Support Manager, Carrie Dow, received a Patriot Award from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) on March 24, 2015! The award was given in recognition of Dow’s constant support of her active-duty reservist employees.
ESGR, a Department of Defense office, was established in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers, and to assist in the resolution of conflicts arising from an employee’s military commitment.
LCS employee Joshua Smith, an Operations Specialist Chief Petty Officer for U.S. Navy’s Central Command, nominated Dow for the Patriot Award.
Every time I walk into Carrie Dow’s office with a new set of orders recalling me to service or the indications that some form of service may be around the corner, she takes it in stride with a smile and supports my service, said Smith. She’s checked in with me while I’ve been mobilized on deployment and took the time to coordinate a care package to be mailed to me while deployed. She’s gone beyond what would be required of an employer/service member relationship, and it’s more than appreciated.
The award was given during a presentation at the ESGR committee luncheon by ESGR Area Chair Mike Emerine. Dow was presented with the award by General Steve Koper, and was accompanied by LCS Support Floor Manager, Rob Davis.
Smith was overseas at the time of the luncheon so was unable to attend, but is glad Dow has been recognized for her support of military service employees. Because of her support, it makes it easier for me to focus on the mission out here.
